The Australian Financial Council (AFFC) is planning to launch a bitcoin futures contract on Monday.
The CFTC, the Federal Reserve, and Australia’s Reserve Bank have all expressed interest in the futures market, with the CFTC recently announcing it would open an initial public offering (IPO) for the virtual currency in 2019.
The futures market has attracted interest from other regulators as well, with New York state’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) and the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) considering introducing bitcoin futures.
However, the CFTA has so far been the only regulatory body that has actually set up its own bitcoin futures market.
This comes after a series of high-profile failures and failures in the market led to the demise of bitcoin futures trading, and the failure of bitcoin exchange Coinbase in 2018.
According to the Financial Review, the futures offer is the first in a series from the Australian Financial Group (AFG), a global bitcoin derivatives market.
The AAGG is an international financial group that will be responsible for the development of bitcoin derivatives and bitcoin-based investment products, including bitcoin futures contracts.
In the future, the AAG will be involved in providing legal, regulatory and regulatory services to the Australian bitcoin derivatives community.
According the Financial Report, the Australian CFTC said it was “very much looking forward to the launch of futures trading” and was “ready to assist the CFCT with any regulatory requirements”.
The CFTA is currently preparing for its first bitcoin futures offering and is expected to announce its plans to launch the first bitcoin options trading market in 2020.
While it has yet to announce any plans for the futures trading market, there is a growing expectation that the futures platform will be used for other bitcoin derivatives trading activities, including investment in bitcoin-related companies and products.
